In rural Kansas
first time in a long time
feels good to be home.
The one thing missing
is you, or the thought of you,
to really be home.

My new poem “To Really Be Home”. Written in haiku form, it is technically referred to as a haiku chain. Give it a read!

I love haiku. I will never forget a trip I went on with my sisters. We were in our hotel room and I said “ hey guys lets write haiku” they looked at me like I was nuts!!!

Haiku is my favorite poetic form. Have you written any haiku lately?

Actually I have:
The quiet is here
It has never been louder
Bring back the noise

I like it! Replace noise with noises and it that line will have 5 syllables! You should write more haiku…I’d love to read more!

Plus you know I have a southern drawl that makes most things have at least two syllables haha.
