I miss my little friend. My daily tern greeting will be missed for quite some time and never forgotten.
Part of my daily commute to the school where I teach consisted of being greeted by a family of terns over the past couple of months. Particularly a new baby that I observed from egg to chick. One day before wing feathers, the baby disappeared. My days do not start as happy as they once did.
Paris. 2004. Original photo is a Polaroid picture taken by a man near a crepe truck in front of the Eiffel Tower. This spontaneous photo became one of of our favorite photos from that trip!
One of the things I like the most about living so close to the equator is that, even though I am on the very edge of the Northern Hemisphere, I can often view the Southern Cross in the early morning sky. See this gem of the Southern Hemisphere always gives me great comfort.
The rain has been falling here in the Pacific. And April is Poetry Month!
March Madness is upon us again, but this year is quite melancholy.
I captured this beautiful moment between mother and daughter for my friends the Gerber family. And they kindly gave me permission to use this photo for the poem that they inspired.
