My Pal: Part Two in Haiku

If you had asked me

over fifty years ago

if life without you

would be possible,

only reply I had then

was “impossible”.

Suddenly it’s been

nineteen long years without you,

and constant yearning.

I have slowly found

life is not impossible,

unfathomable.
