A Thin Line

A Thin Line

My mind shuffles
thru endless possibilities of life,
liberty, and the retreat of death
in this COVID world changing
    every day
                  every hour
                                 every minute.

I grow weary and spent
like a shiny dime
in the corner candy store…
continuously walking on a
moving sidewalk with no end
destination in sight with
    no end
              to the
                      madness.

Living on the thin line between
sane and insane
safety and danger
calm and chaos…
shocking behaviors I’ve never known
a capitol under siege…invaded
and overrun as we
     crumble
                   from
                           within.
