As we motored down the roadway on Saturday errands, Melissa excitedly reached for the radio volume button and said, “Shelter Me!” Great tune that we both like. Volume cranked, we headed down the road with a rockin’ sway in our giddyup! Cinderella, with Tom Keifer on vocals, released the album Heartbreak Station in 1990 and it included the track “Shelter Me”, written by Keifer. This song was a realistic comment on society at the end of the 80s and a popular video. Cultural references aside (i.e. Tipper seeing the devil on MTV), it still rings pretty true today.

“We all need a little shelter
Just a little helper to get us by
We all need a little shelter
Just a little helper ooo, and it'll be alright
Check out Mr. Politician in his suit and tie
But when the doors are closed
There ain't nothin' he won't try…”

We all need a place to hide from time to time…maybe now more than ever. Old politicians and billionaires deciding all our fates without even asking or caring what the average American thinks. A perceived weakness on a global scale. Biden—Putin—Zelenskyy—Hamas—Xi Jinping—Kim Jung Un…political time bombs ready to explode. What to do? Where to go? Who to trust? The shitshow continues, so we need some assurances. Stop throwing rocks from glass houses. We need people to be good humans. We all need a little shelter.
